What to Expect at a Veterinary Appointment
Knowing what to expect at your first appointment will help make the process more pleasant for both you and your pet.
STEP 1
Get Settled
Make sure you arrive a few minutes early to your appointment so you and your pet can get checked in.
STEP 2
Meet Your Veterinarian
A member of our veterinary team will review your pet's health history with you and discuss their pre-existing issues. Feel free to ask any questions you have and we'll take the time to answer them.
STEP 3
Examination, Diagnosis & Treatment
Once we've assessed your pet, we will provide you with a diagnosis and what options exist for treatment. We will work with you to determine what the best course of action and treatment plan will be for you and your pet.

- What types of payment options are available?
Payment in full is expected at the time services are provided or when your pet is discharged. We accept payment by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
- Will I be provided with an estimate of costs?
We are committed to providing a good-faith estimate of costs before we treat your pet. However, unforeseen circumstances may arise in the course of treatment that may impact your final bill.
We will always discuss our written estimate with all clients before they leave our facility. We also require a deposit based on our estimate prior to any further treatment.

We encourage our clients to call ahead to book an appointment to ensure we have space in our schedule to see your pet.
If your pet needs urgent care during our regular business hours, please contact us as soon as possible.
- What is your appointment cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. That way we can offer the space in our schedule to other clients and start booking you a new appointment promptly.
- What types of animals do you treat?
We take care of all domestic dogs, cats, rodents, and other small animals.
- Where can I purchase my pet's prescription and food?
You can purchase all the medications and specialty food your pet needs either via our online store or our in-house pharmacy. Online purchases can be delivered to your home or business within Cranbrook.
- Do you offer end-of-life services?
We understand your pets are family and end-of-life care is a difficult time. We offer compassionate private euthanasia and cremation ash return services.
If you are struggling with the loss of your pet, please contact us. We offer grief counselling services to help clients who are going through this difficult process.
- What if my pet has to be referred for treatment?
For any services we do not offer, we work closely with referral centers in BC and Alberta to ensure you and your pet are taken care of by the best.
